TSCW Captures USL W League South Central Division Championship with 2-0 Victory over Southern Soccer Academy

BRENTWOOD, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League captured the USL W League South Central Division Championship Sunday night with a 2-0 victory over Southern Soccer Academy at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

“Tonight we were again phenomenally organized and first class defensively,” said TSCW Associate Head Coach Logan Fisher. “SSA did a great job of making it difficult for us going forward but when you have the class we do in the final third, that only takes teams so far.”

Needing a win to leapfrog over Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves for first place in the division, TSCW wasted no time getting going. The early minutes were dominated by the home side, putting lots of pressure on the SSA goal.

Katie Shea Collins broke through in the 8th minute knocking home a cross from Ryanne Molenaar and past a diving SSA goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead. TSCW continued to knock on the door, looking for a second goal most of the half, but it was not to be and went into halftime with the game still close.

Collins sealed the win and the division for TSCW in the 66th minute with an impressive shot for a comfortable 2-0 lead. Collins dribbled past a defender and bent her shot into the upper corner past SSA goalkeeper Haley Brinkman kicking off the celebration.

After starting the 2023 season with two narrow losses and a tie, TSCW has been on fire going 8-0-1 in the last nine games. Team defense has led the way, allowing only three goals in that span as well as six shutouts.

“A massive thank you goes to all our players and staff. We truly have a special group here,” Fisher added. “The players have set an example to our youth players coming through here at TSC. Work hard, play harder and never stop showing up!”

With the South Central Division Championship, TSCW qualifies for the USL W League playoffs where it will take on Tampa Bay United at 5 pm ET on Thursday, July 6 at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary, NC. In the other Southern Conference semifinal, NC Courage U23 takes on FC Miami City at 7 pm ET. The winners will play on Saturday, July 8 for a chance to play the Eastern Conference champion.

TSCW Continues Winning Ways at Home Over South Carolina United 3-0

BRENTWOOD, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League continued its winning ways at home defeating South Carolina United FC 3-0 on Saturday evening at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

“It was another good day for the team,” said TSCW Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “The girls have been working very hard and have stayed organized and tuned in to what we are trying to accomplish. This is just another example.”

Katie Shea Collins continued her hot scoring touch pouncing on a rebound off the crossbar in the sixth minute to give TSCW the early lead. Fellow forward Ryanne Molenaar had fired a shot towards the goal and SC United goalkeeper Kaylie Bierman got a hand to it to deflect it off the crossbar right to Collins.

Defender Hayley Howard doubled the lead in the 33rd minute breaking down the left flank. Howard drew the defender, cut it back toward the middle and fired a shot past the diving Bierman for a 2-0 advantage.

After halftime, the home side kept on it as Collins netted her second of the day on a spectacular cross from Katie Toney. Toney beat her defender on the right side and drove a cross to the far post where Collins headed it home for a 3-0 lead.

Midfielder Shelby Craft got herself on the scoresheet in the 86th minute on a breakaway off a feed from McKinley Stiff.

TSCW is unbeaten at home this season and is now 5-0-2 in its last seven games. TSCW returns to action Tuesday, June 27th traveling to Huntsville, AL to take on North Alabama SC at 7:30 pm.

Haddock Nets Brace to Upend Chattanooga Red Wolves 2-0

BRENTWOOD, TN – Anna Haddock scored two goals in the first half and stout defending lifted Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League over Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves on Monday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

“It was a really big win for us tonight,” said Haddock. “Obviously, Chattanooga has been in first [place] and had a really good season so we were really excited for this game. Everyone stepped up and did their part.”

TSCW got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute when forward Katie Shea Collins beat her defender and was taken down in the penalty box. Haddock calmly slotted home the penalty kick to give the home side a 1-0 lead.

Haddock extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 41st minute when she was fed by Collins at the top of the box and buried it after wonderful team build up play.

“Another phenomenal three points tonight,” said TSCW Associate Head Coach Logan Fisher. “Everything about what we are doing right now is just solid. We are going to continue the run and keep the girls going with all eyes to South Carolina on Saturday.”

Strong Effort Brings TSC2 2-0 Victory over Southern Soccer Academy

BRENTWOOD, TN – A strong game front to back led to Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two scoring a 2-0 victory over Southern Soccer Academy Tuesday night at Ravenwood HS Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

“It was a good performance again tonight,” said TSC2 Head Coach Andy Robertson. “We will take the 2-nil win. We felt like we had to redeem ourselves after we lost the first game at SSA. So tonight was about proving what we are all about and thankfully we put in a really good performance.”

The hosts took the lead in the 27th minute on a two on one break. Forward Baronyi Kengeye slid the ball across to a wide open Wyland Worley who slotted the ball past SSA goalkeeper Brant Zulauf for the 1-0 lead.

TSC2 extended the advantage in the 75th minute on a corner kick. John Azar sent a perfect ball into the penalty box where midfielder Abdou Samb rose above the SSA defense to head home the insurance marker.

TSC2 will next be in action Tuesday, June 20th hosting East Atlanta FC kicking off at 7:30 pm at Ravenwood HS Stadium.

Collins Two Goals and Team Defense Lead to 3-0 Win Over Tormenta FC

BRENTWOOD, TN – Katie Shea Collins two goals and a stingy team defending led Tennessee Soccer Club past defending USL W League National Champion South Georgia Tormenta FC 3-0 on Monday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

“It went amazing,” said Collins. “Our defense did so well. It just makes it so easy when we work as a team.”

Collins’ first goal came in the 39th minute as she blasted a shot past a diving Tormenta goalkeeper Keara Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald got a hand to it, but it had too much pace on it and rolled into the lower corner of the net.

TSCW doubled the lead in the 64th minute when a ball was played through to a streaking Collins who dribbled around the goalkeeper and slotted home her second goal of the night.

The home side found the back of the net once again in the 84th minute when Collins broke down the right side and sent a perfect cross to Nolyn Bartholomew who buried it to seal the victory.

With a clear game plan, TSCW snuffed out every Tormenta attack and punished the visitors on the counter.

“It felt great out there,” said TSCW Goalkeeper Taiana Tolleson. “I think we just saw what we have been trying to work on from the beginning of the season come to fruition tonight. It was an awesome team effort tonight and it felt good to have that shutout.”

Late Azar Game Winner Lifts TSC2 to Victory Over Red Wolves

DALTON, GA – A stunning John Azar goal in second half stoppage time was enough to Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two over the Dalton Red Wolves Sunday night at Dalton Stadium in Dalton, GA.

The game featured quite a bit of midfield play with limited scoring chances from either side and was looking to be headed to a scoreless draw. As the full 90 minutes passed, Azar took the ball down the left flank and cut towards the middle and blasted a shot into the lower right corner of the net past a diving Red Wolves goalkeeper.

The visitors from Tennessee celebrated and minutes later were victorious, collecting a critical three points in the tightly contested USL League Two standings.

“We are very excited to snatch the three points at the end,” said TSC2 Head Coach Andy Robertson. “After waiting and waiting [lightning delay] we were finally able to get playing. Obviously, we were hoping to find that goal before the final minute of the game, but overall, we felt our performance deserved the three points.”

With severe thunderstorms lingering in the area, the game was delayed two and a half hours and finally kicked off at 10 pm local time.

TSC2 will next be in action Saturday, June 10th traveling to South Carolina United in a double-header with the USL W League teams. The W League games will kick off at 5 pm ET with the League Two teams kicking off at 7:30 pm ET.

Haddock and Collins Lead Explosive First Half and TSCW to Victory

BRENTWOOD, TN – A five goal outburst in the first half of action was enough to power Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League past North Alabama SC 5-0 on Wednesday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

Midfielder Anna Haddock netted a hat trick, and forward Katie Shea Collins added a brace to lead the home side to a sizable lead at the half. Both Haddock and Collins have appeared for the United States Women’s Youth National Teams.

Haddock, the Auburn University senior, is no stranger to finding the back of the net for college and club. In the 5th minute, Haddock took a lay off pass from Collins and struck a first time shot, beating North Alabama goalkeeper Maddox Dolly.

Collins got on the scoresheet herself in the 21st minute burying a cross from Ryanne Molenaar. In the 34th minute, Collins once again found the net on a breakaway as Haddock played a perfect ball through that sprung the pacy striker.

Haddock needed just five minutes at the end of the half to complete her hat trick, scoring in the 40th and 45th minute.

“I thought it was a great performance by the players tonight,” said TSCW Associate Head Coach Logan Fisher. “I really enjoyed the first half. For a 5-0 performance and three points against a decent team, I am really pleased.”

Asheville City Edges TSC2 in Intense Battle

BRENTWOOD, TN – In a game that saw physicality, yellow cards, a red card, and plenty of fouls, it was Asheville City SC who was able to squeak out a 2-1 victory over Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two Saturday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

After a mostly eventful free first half, Asheville City struck first as a long ball in behind the TSC2 defense caught goalkeeper Jack McCarthy by surprise. Asheville forward Scott Vatne hit a perfect volley that eluded McCarthy to put the visitors on the board in the 40th minute.

Despite trailing by a goal headed into the second half, TSC2 Head Coach Andy Robertson made some tactical adjustments and the team responded.

Throughout the second half, TSC2 put pressure on the Asheville City goal but could not come up with the equalizer.

In the 78th minute, Asheville again caught the TSC2 defense with a ball in behind and forward Juan Ballas was taken down in the box for a penalty kick. Clay Obara slotted home the penalty past a diving McCarthy to double the Asheville lead to 2-0.

Just five minutes later, TSC2 forward Malachi Jones attacked the right side of the Asheville City defense and was fouled in the box, giving TSC2 a penalty kick of their own. Midfielder Ivan Jolivet powered his penalty past Asheville goalkeeper Jarrett Payne to pull TSC2 to within a goal.

Despite pressing for another goal in the dying minutes, TSC2 was not able to find paydirt again.

“Disappointing result at the end of it.,” said Robertson. “It was a pretty even game for the most part. I thought we made a couple of critical errors at the wrong times, but credit to the guys for battling toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the league.”

TSCW Dominates but Forced to Settle for 1-1 Draw in Home Opener Against Birmingham Legion

BRENTWOOD, TN – Throughout the match Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League moved the ball confidently and created chance after chance but ultimately settled for a 1-1 tie against Birmingham Legion FC on Thursday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

The visitors struck first on a quick counterattack in the 4th minute when Norah Roller broke with the ball, cut across a TSCW defender and beat goalkeeper Taiana Tolleson with a shot for a 1-0 lead.

Despite creating numerous chances, TSCW was not able to find the back of the net and Birmingham led at the half. The home side looked like it found the answer midway through half, however, a nice combination led to a goal whistled back for offside.

Coming out of the break, TSCW stayed in attacking mode and it was only the heroics of Birmingham goalkeeper Mackenzie Titus that kept the visitors on top.

After continuing to press for the equalizer, TSCW finally found the net as forward Anna Haddock was able to free herself up and chipped the goalkeeper from 30 yards out knotting the score at 1-1.

The home side was not satisfied as it kept the Birmingham defense on their heels and pepper the Legion goal. TSCW forward Katie Shea Collins nearly netted the game winner in the dying seconds of the match but Titus made a top-notched save to preserve the tie.

“I thought we played some lovely soccer at times tonight. We have serious quality in this squad, and it showed tonight,” said TSCW Associate Head Coach Logan Fisher. “The group is coming together nicely. We showed against Tormenta and Birmingham we can compete against the best this conference has to offer.”

O’Halloran Hat Trick Powers TSC2 Past North Alabama in Home Opener

BRENTWOOD, TN – Forward Patrick O’Halloran’s hat trick propelled the Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two team to a 5-0 victory over North Alabama SC Tue sday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium in Brentwood, TN.

“It was a good performance and a good bounce back from Saturday,” said Head Coach Andy Robertson. “We talked about being more effective in the final third and we scored five goals tonight.”

O’Halloran opened the scoring in the 17th minute and doubled the lead in the 36th minute on a nifty combination in the North Alabama SC penalty area.

TSC2 took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

After the break, the home side kept its foot on the gas as Conner Osterholt scored off a rebound in the 62nd minute to extend the lead.

O’Halloran completed his hat trick in the 71st minute with a wicked bending shot into the upper corner of the net, giving the North Alabama goalkeeper no chance.

Baronyi Kengeye finished the scoring in the 76th minute to bring the final margin to 5-0.

Heartbreaking 90th Minute Goal Edges TSCW Against Defending National Champions

STATESBORO, GA – South Georgia Tormenta FC forward Kiana Jacobson’s dramatic goal in the 90th minute was enough to give the home side a 1-0 victory over Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League team at Tormenta Stadium in Statesboro, GA on Monday evening.

As the clock was ticking down, it looked as if TSCW was going to earn a hard-fought draw against Tormenta FC, the defending National Champions in the USL W League. It was not to be, however, as a long ball was sent down the right flank behind the TSCW defensive line. The ball was driven across and Jacobson slid to deflect it into the corner of the net.

The visitors had staged a tremendous defensive effort throughout the match. In in the 73rd minute, TSCW goalkeeper Taiana Tolleson came up huge, saving a penalty kick after a Tormenta player was taken down in the box.

“We had a good game plan and were executing it well into the second half,” said TSC W Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “I was very proud Taiana and how much all the players put into the match. It was unfortunate that we were not able to earn a point.”

TSCW Drops 2023 Season Opener to Lady Red Wolves

CHATTANOOGA, TN - In the opening match of the 2023 USL W League, Tennessee Soccer Club was downed 3-1 Sunday evening by the Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves at CHI Memorial Stadium in Chattanooga.

Katie Toney opened the scoring for TSCW in the 5th minute to give the visitors the early lead. Toney, making her USL W League debut, tallied when she dribbled in alone and beat the Lady Red Wolves goalkeeper on a 1v1.

TSCW started fast as forward Katie Shea Collins hit the post with a shot just 45 seconds into the match with Toney finding the back of the net minutes later.

The visitors held a 1-0 advantage until just before halftime when Mackenzie Smith headed home a cross in the 45th minute leveling the score headed into the break.

Chattanooga got on the board to take the lead in the 51st minute when Grace Morris headed home a corner kick for a 2-1 lead. The Lady Red Wolves extended their advantage when Jayla Gallespie scored in the 70th minute for the final margin.

TSCW will be back in action Monday, May 22 as they travel to Statesboro, GA to take on defending National Champion South Georgia Tormenta at 7 pm ET at Tormenta Stadium.

Robertson Tapped as New TSC USL League Two Head Coach

FRANKLIN, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club has brought in the new year announcing that Andy Robertson will take on head coaching duties for the TSC USL League Two team for 2023. Robertson served as an assistant coach for the team in 2022, the inaugural season.

“I am both honored and excited to be asked to coach TSC’s USL2 team,” said new TSC USL League Two Head Coach Andy Robertson. “I had a fantastic experience last summer, working with a great group of players, and I can’t wait to get going for the 2023 season. I want to thank Stuart and Dalton for this opportunity.”

“We are very pleased to elevate Andy to the head coaching position this year,” said USL Director Dalton Kaufman. “Andy was a big part in the success of our USL2 team last year and we are looking forward to his leadership moving forward.”

Robertson is currently the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS and has led the Statesmen since 2014. Prior to his head coaching duties, he served as a Graduate Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach.

The Dumbarton, Scotland native played four seasons for Ty Brewer at Northwood (Fla.) University. Robertson was a four-year starting goalkeeper for the Seahawks, a perennial power in The Sun Conference (NAIA).

Kaufman Takes Over as Tennessee Soccer Club USL Director

FRANKLIN, TN – After a successful first season in the United Soccer League, Tennessee Soccer Club has announced that Dalton Kaufman has assumed the full-time role of TSC USL Director effective this past August. Kaufman served as the USL W League Head Coach last season and aided in the organization of the team in the inaugural year.

“We were very pleased with our inaugural season with our USL W League and League Two franchises last year,” said TSC Executive Director Stuart Brown. “With our first season behind us, I feel that Dalton has the right experience and temperament to lead our franchises into the future.”

“I am very excited and humbled to take on this new role as USL Director,” said head coach Dalton Kaufman. “I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work building on the foundation of what was established in year one. I am looking forward to working with the TSC staff and USL coaching staff to bring TSC USL to the next level.”

Kaufman has plenty of experience having been a leader in pre-professional soccer prior to his joining TSC last year. On the west coast, he was the Head Coach and General Manager of several Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) franchises including FC Pacific, Beach Futbal Club, and Arizona Rush.

As the founding coach and general manager for Beach Futbal Club, Kaufman coached the team to the National Championship in 2014. He led Arizona Rush to the National Championship match in 2008 and the United States Youth Soccer U23 National Championship match in 2010.

Kaufman will remain as the W League team’s Head Coach in addition to his USL Director role. The Head Coach of the TSC League Two team will be announced shortly.

TSC 2 Win Season Finale 3-1 at Southern Soccer Academy

MARIETTA, GA - In the inaugural season of USL League Two, Tennessee Soccer Club finished strong with a 3-1 victory over the Southern Soccer Academy Kings Saturday night at Marathon Soccer Park.

With the win, TSC 2 finished the season on a 3-0-2 streak and earned points in eight of the last 10 games, finishing 5-4-5 overall.

"This last run of games with a few wins and a couple of draws has been a great way to end the season," said Assistant Coach Jason Finley. "Our last two games were convincing wins and a good reward for the hard work the players have put in this summer. We look forward to building from this first season."

SSA opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but TSC 2 responded when Gabriel Adriano slid a perfect ball through the SSA defense to fellow forward Kyle Galloway who went in 1v1 against the goalkeeper and finished in the 30th minute to tie the score at 1-1.

Galloway got on the scoresheet again in the 35th minute, this time taking a pass from midfielder Tommy Lamb at the top of the penalty area and curled a shot off the post and into the goal for the 2-1 lead going into halftime.

Adriano was able to get himself a goal as well after his earlier helper, dribbling past several SSA defenders and rifled a shot past the goalkeeper to extend the advantage in the 60th minute.

Defender Batiste Gateau thought he had a goal, heading the ball in off the crossbar from a free kick, however, the play was whistled for offside and the goal was negated.

TSC 2 Strikes Fast for 3-1 Victory over Red Wolves

BRENTWOOD, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club League Two wasted no time taking control of the match, scoring in the first minute and securing a 3-1 win over visiting Dalton Red Wolves on Wednesday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

“Tonight was a good win for the boys,” said Assistant Coach Greg Warden. “I thought we were really on top of the match in the first half. It was good to get the three points and look forward to our next game at SSA.”

The game opened fast with TSC 2 scoring the fastest goal in team history, just 46 seconds from the opening whistle. Forward Kyle Galloway dribbled across the 18-yard box and ripped a shot into the lower corner beating Dalton goalkeeper Nestor Mendez to give the home side a 1-0 lead.

Goalkeeper Michael Sibley made a fantastic diving save off a point-blank header in the 21st minute to keep the Red Wolves off the board.

TSC 2 extended the lead to 2-0 in the 37th minute when forward Gabriel Adriano beat his defender on the right side and rifled a shot past the Dalton goalkeeper.

The Red Wolves narrowed the advantage just before halftime in the 44th minute on a free kick by Christian Vinasco.

In the 69th min, Shammai Camara gave TSC 2 some much needed cushion, scoring on a shot that deflected off a Dalton defender and into the goal for a 3-1 lead.

TSC 2 nearly added to the lead when midfielder Robbie Lyons rocketed a shot off the crossbar in 89th minute.

TSC 2 Earns a 2-1 Victory Over Peachtree City MOBA

BRENTWOOD, TN – A goal in each half was enough to lift the Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two team to a 2-1 victory over Peachtree City MOBA Tuesday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

“We played well tonight and getting the win feels very good,” Assistant Coach Andy Robertson said. “We probably could have had a few more goals to make it more comfortable, but we will enjoy the three points.”

TSC 2 dented the scoreboard first in the 34th minute off a corner kick with a powerful header by Nick Dang to put the home side up 1-0. The home side nearly scored earlier in the half with a similar header on a corner kick that was saved off the line by a Peachtree City defender.

Just after halftime, forward Gabriel Adriano doubled the lead for TSC 2 when he dribbled into the box and hammered a shot past Peachtree City goalkeeper Spencer King to double the advantage 2-0 in the 51st minute.

Peachtree City cut into the lead in the 58th minute when Alejandro Lopez was able to find space at the top of the TSC 2 penalty area and chip the ball over goalkeeper Michael Sibley and tuck into the far upper corner.

In the 82nd minute, TSC 2 almost game themselves some breathing room when Tyrese Spicer unleashed a volley from 25 yards out that rocketed off crossbar, but it stayed out leaving some nail biting moments to finish the match.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA – In a game that should have been won, Tennessee Soccer Club W League had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Georgia Tuesday night against Peachtree City MOBA.

TSC W took a 1-0 lead when Avery Clark slipped a probing ball in behind the Peachtree City defensive line to a sprinting midfielder Shelby Hash who one-timed the ball over the goalkeeper and off the crossbar and in for the goal in the 56th minute.

Peachtree City evened the score at 1-1 in the 80th when forward Natalie Martinez cut it back in the box and rifled a ball off the post and in past a diving goalkeeper Mallory Thomas who got a hand on it but just not enough.

The visitors had a number of chances to extend their lead in the game. Midfield Shelby Craft had a breakaway in the second half, but could not convert.

Just before the final whistle, TSC W nearly took all three points, but their corner kick chance was shot just wide of the post.

One Knoxville Edges TSC 2 in Tough In-State Battle

MARYVILLE, TN – Stephen Afrifa’s goal in the 12th minute was just enough to hold up as the game-winning goal as league leading One Knoxville SC edged Tennessee Soccer Club 1-0 in a United Soccer League Two match Saturday night at Maryville College.

“The boys went toe to toe with the top team in the league,” said Assistant Coach Andy Robertson. “We were able to create some good opportunities but were unable to capitalize. If we were more clinical in the final third, then we likely walk away with a good result.”

TSC 2 opened the match on the attack, creating great scoring opportunities. A powerful volley by forward Kyle Galloway nearly gave the visitors the lead early, but it could not find the back of the net.

In the 12th minute, One Knoxville had a throw in deep in the TSC 2 end. A long throw in was flicked on to the back post where Afrifa was able to finish for the 1-0 lead.

The best moments for TSC 2 came midway through the second half when substitute Tyrese Spicer came on and had three prime opportunities to score, only for One Knoxville’s goalkeeper Ryan Troutman to come up with brilliant diving saves denying the equalizer.

TSC 2 Falls to Conference Leading Asheville City SC

BRENTWOOD, TN – The Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two team faced the top team in the South Central Conference and traded chances, but it was Asheville City SCwho was able to break through on the scoreboard, winning 3-0 Friday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

Asheville City took the lead in the 3rd minute as forward Lucas Gonzalez found the bottom corner just off the post and in, beating TSC 2 goalkeeper Michael Sibley for a 1-0 advantage.

The visitors made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute when Quentin Huerman found a loose ball in the TSC 2 penalty area and deposited it home.

TSC 2 had their chances in the first half with several close calls with whipped balls across the face of goal, but just could not find the runner.

Asheville City added one more on the brink of halftime on a counter of a TSC 2 corner kick. Finn Ballard McBride was on the end and slotted it home for the 3-0 lead.

The home team had a great chance to chip into the deficit in the 64th minute with a semi-breakaway and the ensuing corner kick, but it was not to be.

Chattanooga Red Wolves Top TSC W 3-0

CHATTANOOGA, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club W League had plenty of chances, but it was the Chattanooga Red Wolves who were able to take advantage with scoring the goals in a 3-0 loss at CHI Memorial Stadium in Chattanooga, TN Friday evening.

Chattanooga Red Wolves took the lead in the 19th minute as Summer, intercepted a pass and split the backline, dribbling in on a breakaway for the 1-0 lead.

The Red Wolves extended the lead to 2-0 when Hollie Massey finished off a feed from Hernandez in the 35th minute.

Chattanooga added a third goal on a corner kick in the 56th minute to give the home side a 3-0 advantage.

“We played really well in the first half and missed some sitters,” said TSC W Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “We made some silly mistakes that cost us goals after we really had some good play.”

TSC W was on the attack quite a bit throughout the match, but Red Wolves goalkeeper Danielle Krzyzaniak came up with some big saves for Chattanooga.

TSC W Falls on the Road in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina United Bantams scored three first half goals and added one more late in the match to secure a 4-0 victory over Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League on Tuesday night at SEFL Soccer Complex in South Carolina.

Emily Yaple opened the scoring for SC United early in the first half, heading home a cross to take a 1-0 lead.

Forward Riane Coman notched the next two for the home side to extend the lead to 3-0 and firmly control the match. Her first goal was a gem, cutting back onto her left foot and bending a shot off that rang off the post and in.

TSC W’s Avery Clark nearly pulled one back for the visitors with a header of her own off a free kick from Anna Haddock that hit the post and just stayed out.

The Bantams would add a fourth just before full-time with a finish in the box.

Betts Scores Brace for 3-1 Victory Over Peachtree City

BRENTWOOD, TN – Shorthanded maybe, but not short on talent, the Tennessee Soccer Club W League team showed their resolve and earned a 3-1 victory over Peachtree City MOBA Saturday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

Newly high school graduate Caroline Betts scored her first of two in the 21st minute dribbled in and beat the Peachtree City goalkeeper near side in the 21st minute to tie the score at 1-1. The goal came from a long Katie Bahn free kick in her own half which forward Avery Clark flicked on into an on-running Betts.

Once again, the early action caused problems for TSC W when in the 4th minute a Peachtree City shot was blocked by the defense, but unfortunately deflected right to forward Anika Kallash for the slotted finish.

The home side took the lead 2-1 when midfielder Keaton Mitchell won the ball in midfield and took the ball down the right side and drove a ball across the goal for Betts who netted her second of the game in the 36th minute.

Clark nearly extended the TSC W lead in the 56th minute with a rocket off a free kick which flew just inches wide of the post.

Alec Baumgardt made a withdrawn run out of midfield and took a beautiful feed from Betts to beat the keeper low just inside the far post for an insurance marker for TSC W.

TSC W returns to action Tuesday, June 14th traveling to South Carolina United at SEFL Soccer Complex kicking off at 7:30 pm ET.

First Half Propels TSC 2 to 3-1 Victory over Tri-Cities

JOHNSON CITY, TN – Three first half goals powered the Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two team to a 3-1 victory over Tri-Cities Otters Saturday night at the TVA Credit Union Ballpark.

“It took us 15 minutes to get into the game but once we settled into it we were great for the next 30 minutes and scored three really good goals,” said Assistant Coach Greg Warden. “Conceding a goal four minutes into second half was a test of our mentality but we re-grouped and saw the game out well.”

TSC 2 forward Kyle Galloway scored a brace on the night, and Miguel Maynez added another to give the visitors a 3-0 halftime lead.

The Otters chipped into the TSC 2 lead just after halftime getting a goal back.

Tri-Cities nearly made the game more interesting, earning a penalty kick in the second half. The kick eluded goalkeeper Michael Sibley, but it hit the post and stayed out. That was as close as the Otters would get and the visitors earned the win.

“It was a great team win on the road. 2 wins in a row and building good momentum, big game Friday against Asheville City,” said Warden.

Lightning and Early Strike Overcomes TSC W in Loss to Red Wolves

BRENTWOOD, TN – Lightning struck early at Ravenwood High School Stadium both off the field in the form of an hour and 15-minute lightning delay, and on the field with Chattanooga Red Wolves USL W League scoring just 16 seconds into the game Wednesday night against Tennessee Soccer Club.

The Red Wolves attacked off the kickoff and served a great ball into the penalty area which was headed home by Mackenzie Smith.

“We unfortunately put ourselves behind the eight ball after giving up an early goal and we then chased the lead the rest of the game,” said Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “We had our opportunities, but Chattanooga was successful disrupting our rhythm in the attacking third. Although the result was disappointing, credit to our players for battling the entire 90 minutes.”

Chattanooga had a chance 54th minute to double their lead on a volley from the top of the box, but a diving save by TSC W goalkeeper Katie Bahn kept the home side in the game.

TSC W had a few chances in the second half to equalize. A 58th minute counter by McKinley Stiff was saved by Chattanooga keeper Danielle Krzyzaniak and a 70th minute free kick that was headed wide.

The best moment for TSC W came in the 64th minute on a corner kick that was served in and headed a few times toward goal before being snatched by Krzyzaniak.

Camara, Spicer Lead TSC to First USL 2 Victory over East Atlanta FC

BRENTWOOD, TN – Defender Shammai Camara’s powerful header off a corner kick in the 72nd minute proved to be enough for Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two to earn their first victory of the season 2-0 over East Atlanta FC at Ravenwood High School Stadium on Saturday night.

“It was a good result for the team tonight,” said Assistant Coach Andy Robertson. “The guys have been working hard to get the first win. We finally took our chances tonight.”

TSC 2 forward Tyrese Spicer scored the insurance goal in the 90th minute, taking a long ball from goalkeeper Michael Sibley and flicking it past the on-rushing East Atlanta FC goalkeeper for the 2-0 lead and cementing the win.

East Atlanta played the entire second half with 10 players after midfielder Jamie Wynne was shown a red card just before halftime after accumulating his second yellow of the game.

TSC 2 nearly took the lead in the 30th minute when forward Kyle Galloway attempted a bicycle kick, but it was blocked by a EAFC defender before reaching goal.

Late Goal Dooms TSC W in Final Minute

BRENTWOOD, TN – A 90th minute goal by forward Valentine Pursey lifted South Carolina United FC to a 3-2 win over Tennessee Soccer Club W League in heartbreaking fashion Friday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

The game was destined to end in a 2-2 draw, but a long ball was played by SC United and deflected off a TSC W defender. Pursey was able to outrace the defenders and goalkeeper Ana Boero to the ball and knock home the game winner with less than a minute to play in the game.

“A little bit of a disappointing result tonight,” said Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “I thought the score didn’t represent how well we played. A credit to South Carolina, they played a good game and stretched us out a bit.”

The two sides traded goals in the first half with SC United getting on the scoreboard first, early in the 4th minute. Forward Corinna Zullo got in behind the TSC W defense and slotted a finish to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

TSC W responded in the 11th minute when midfielder Shelby Craft took a cross from forward Jaylin Counts and her shot found the lower corner to even the score at 1-1.

Zullo grabbed the lead for SC United again in the 30th minute, again finding herself behind the defense and dribbled around Boero for a 2-1 edge.

The home side tied the score at 2-2 in the dying moments of the first half when Whitaker Buchanan blasted a swerving a free kick around the wall and into the lower corner of the net, beating SC United goalkeeper Kaylie Bierman.

TSC W missed several great chances to take the lead in the second half, with the last one coming in the 88th minute with a ball played through and Craft was able to poke the ball past an on-rushing SC United goalkeeper but is just rolled wide.

Hash’s Brace Helps TSC W Earn 4-4 Draw on the Road in Wild Affair

ATLANTA, GA – Lightning was striking everywhere, in the sky and on the field in the form of eight combined goals. In a game where whoever had the ball last would win it, Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League and Southern Soccer Academy played a barn-burner of a game with a 4-4 tie at Marathon Park Soccer Complex Monday night in Atlanta, GA after three lighting delays and the lights turning off mid-game.

Both teams wasted no time getting on the scoresheet, with SSA breaking through in the 9th minute as forward Treva Aycock won a challenge got past the TSC W defense, and slotted home a shot.

Minutes later, TSC W midfielder Anna Haddock found the back of the net to level the score at 1-1. That was not to last, however, as SSA once again took the lead immediately with a flick on by Hailey Farrington-Bentil past a diving TSC W goalkeeper Katie Bahn.

A goal on either side of the half would give TSC W the lead. Forward Jaylin Counts took a feed from Whitaker Buchanan and fired it past SSA goalkeeper Haley Brinkman to equalize headed into the break. TSC W took the lead moments after halftime as midfielder Shelby Hash powerfully headed home a corner kick, giving the visitors its first lead of the evening.

In the 60th minute, SSA found the back of the net once again, sending a cross in that tucked in behind goalkeeper Ana Boero.

Hash and Counts got themselves back on the scoresheet once again, linking up minutes later to once again give TSC W a 4-3 lead.

Not to be outdone, SSA found the equalizer in the 85th minute on a ball played behind the TSC W defense and put home by Madison Nichols.

Just when the fans thought the drama filled affair was nearing its end, both teams had one last say to find the winner. TSC W midfielder Shelby Craft rang a shot off the crossbar, just inches from winning the game. SSA responded in kind, nearly netting the game-winner of their own, but it was Boero who was up to the task and made a tremendous save to preserve the draw on the road.

“We played a phenomenal game tonight.” Head Coach Dalton Kaufman said. “After going down early, we fought back to take the lead. We were creative in the attack. I am very proud of this team. [The team] continues to get better with every game.”

TSC 2 Settles for Scoreless Draw Against SSA

BRENTWOOD, TN – The Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two team attacked for most of the evening but could not find the elusive breakthrough goal, tying Southern Soccer Academy 0-0 at Ravenwood High School Stadium Monday night.

“A much-improved performance from Saturday night,” said Assistant Coach Andy Robertson. “We were just lacking in the final third. We have to start putting these teams away when we have the chance.”

The best chance for the home side came late in the match when a TSC 2 forward was taken down in the box, but much to the disappointment of the fans, the referee never pointed to the spot and no penalty was given.

Both defenses proved difficult to beat, blocking shots and snuffing out attacks.

TSC 2 goalkeeper Michael Sibley responded well in the 30th minute when a SSA corner kick was headed powerfully toward goal, but Sibley’s reacted quickly with a point blank save.

SSA goalkeeper Jack Hudson responded in kind with a save in the 64th minute off a TSC 2 side volley.

TSC threatened late, however, could not crack the scoresheet and had to settle for the scoreless draw.

TSC 2 Control Play but Drop Tough Result to Tri-Cities Otters 3-2

BRENTWOOD, TN – Despite Tennessee Soccer Club League Two controlling play in a game of attacking opportunities, it was an unfortunate bounce that allowed the Tri-Cities FC Otters to take a 3-2 victory Saturday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

The decisive Tri-Cities goal in 56th minute occurred as a ball was played over top of the TSC 2 defense and bounced over goalkeeper Michael Sibley. In the scramble that followed, Otters forward David Panter was able poke home the game winner.

“I was a tough one tonight,” said Assistant Coach Andy Robertson. “I think over the course of the game we probably had the best chances. We made a couple of errors which cost us in the end.”

The first half saw a flurry of opportunities early for TSC 2, but it was Tri-Cities who opened the scoring in the 14th minute when forward Patrick O’Halloran hit a side volley into the net off a service that was headed down.

The visitors did not waste any time doubling the lead to 2-0 when O’Halloran eluded the TSC 2 defense and sent a shot that found the lower corner just 30 seconds after the first goal.

The home side cut into the lead as forward Tyrese Spicer dribbled through several Otter defenders and chipped the goalkeeper to bring TSC 2 back into the game in the 20th minute.

Spicer stayed dangerous the entire first half, giving TSC 2 a number of good opportunities attacking the left side with driven balls across the face of goal, but ultimately unable to find the target.

Just after the halftime break, in the 48th minute Kyle Gallaway leveled the score at 2-2, beating the goalkeeper to the upper corner on a penalty kick after he was taken down in the box.

Knox Nets Game Winner on Corner for 1-0 Victory over Chattanooga Red Wolves

CHATTANOOGA, TN – After 75 scoreless minutes, defender LJ Knox netted the game winner, giving Tennessee Soccer Club W League a 1-0 victory over the Chattanooga Red Wolves on Wednesday night at CHI Memorial Stadium in Chattanooga, TN.

Forward Jaylin Counts stepped up to serve the corner kick and it was flicked on with Knox pouncing on the free ball and volleying it home for the game winner.

“It was a phenomenal effort for our team tonight, they came out strong from the opening whistle,” said USL W Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “I was very proud of the girls. We tweaked our system to adjust to Chattanooga’s style.”

Knox nearly got on the scoresheet earlier in the game in the 35th minute, but Chattanooga goalkeeper Dani Krzyzaniak made an athletic diving save to keep the game even.

The Red Wolves almost went up a goal early on in the 3rd minute with a delicate chip that glanced off the crossbar.

Chattanooga forwards Kennedy Hearvin and Mackenzie caused problems for the TSC W backline in the first half with constant runs in behind the defense, but goalkeeper Katie Bahn was up to the challenge with several key saves, including 1v1 opportunities.

With the score tied at 0-0, the second half play opened up a bit with both teams trading scoring chances.

TSC W nearly got on the board first in the 62nd min when forward Whitaker Buchanan unleashed a shot from 25 yards out that the Chattanooga goalkeeper could not hold. Shelby Craft was there for the rebound with the keeper again coming up big, but leaving another rebound which Buchanan put home. The goal would not count, however, as Craft was ruled offside on the play.

Defender LJ Knox got TSC W on the scoreboard volleying home a ball in the 75th min off a corner kick.

The Red Wolves responded with two quick chances of their own with Bahn coming up big and smothering the shots.

Long Lightning Delay and Early Ending Spoils TSC 2 Home Opener

BRENTWOOD, TN – After a nearly three-hour lightning delay, Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two was able to finally kickoff its home opener late Saturday night at Ravenwood High School Stadium against in-state rival One Knoxville SC. Unfortunately, a full match was not to be as play was suspended in the 73rd minute due to another storm coming through, giving One Knoxville the 1-0 victory.

Forward Stephen Afrifa got the visitors on the board first, re-directing home a cross from the right flank and getting to the ball just before the TSC 2 defender and goalkeeper Michael Sibley.

Despite the late start, the teams went at it from the start and emotions were high in the in-state battle for three points in the standings.

Each team traded opportunities, however, neither team could crack the scoresheet again.

With One Knoxville in the lead 1-0 coming out of the half and the impending storms coming any minute, TSC 2 brought a renewed urgency searching for the equalizer. The best chance came late, but the shot from 25 yards out sailed over the crossbar.

In the 73rd minute, the second wave of storms struck and the match was abandoned with One Knoxville securing the 1-0 win.

O’Connor Hattrick leads Southern Soccer Academy to 3-1 win over TSC W

BRENTWOOD, TN – Southern Soccer Academy forward Callie O’Connor’s blast from 20 yards out in the 76th minute completed her hattrick and proved too much for Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League to overcome Friday night in a 3-1 loss at Ravenwood High School Stadium.

“It was a really gritty game tonight,” said TSC W Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “It was a bit frustrating as I though we came out a little bit soft in the first half, but we made some adjustments and they started playing well. The second half was much better and I thought we were all over them.”

Down 0-2 and approaching the first half whistle, forward Whitaker Buchanan made history, scoring the first ever goal in TSC W franchise history. Hannah Morton broke down the right flank and slotted a perfect ball for Buchanan to put home in the 45th minute.

SSA opened the scoring in the 10th min as O’Connor finished off driven service across the box, narrowly escaping the diving TSC W goalkeeper Katie Bahn.

O’Connor notched her second goal of the night off a pass from Molly Wooldridge, doubling the visitor’s lead to 2-0.

The game proved to be very physical throughout the match, with 29 total fouls and seven yellow cards handed out. In the 71st minute, TSC W midfielder Shelby Hash, already on a yellow card, was shown a second yellow and was red carded forcing the home side to play the remaining 19 minutes with 10 players.

Despite the disadvantage, TSC W continued to go forward and press for the equalizer.

“We definitely did have our opportunities and we just didn’t put them away and unfortunately they did,” Kaufman said. “We are learning a lot about ourselves. We are looking forward to the next few games and get our rhythm and get more familiarity with each other.

“It will still be a very promising season for us. Disappointed, but promising.”

BRENTWOOD, TN – In the historic first match in franchise history, the Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League team was defeated by South Georgia Tormenta FC 2-0 at Ravenwood High School Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Tormenta FC English forward Amy Andrews gave the visitors the scoring they needed on a penalty kick in the 77th minute and again on a corner kick in stoppage time to earn the victory.

After a scoreless first half, which saw Tormenta FC controlling much of the play, the tide would turn with TSC W becoming more assertive in the second half.

“In the first half we saw Tormenta attack us in a way we were not used to, and we had to adjust,” said TSC W Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “I was very proud of the way we played, especially in the second half. I don’t think the score truly reflected the way we played.”

Four minutes into the second half TSC W midfielder Anna Haddock thought she had the opening goal of the match, only to be robbed by a spectacular save by Tormenta goalkeeper Sydney Martinez tipping the ball over the crossbar to keep the game scoreless.

The two teams went toe-to-toe all throughout the second frame, with South Georgia missing just wide on a breakaway in the 59th minute and a strong counterattack in the 63rd minute. TSC had plenty of scoring chances as well with a back-to-back chances on a header by TSC forward Jaylin Counts and a shot by Whitaker Buchanan.

In the 77th minute, South Georgia forward Isabella Gutierrez was taken down in the box and a penalty kick was awarded by the referee. Andrews took the kick, TSC W goalkeeper Katie Bahn was able to make a great save on the shot, only for Andrews to finish on the rebound to give the visitors the lead 1-0.

“Katie made a great save and we just didn’t follow it up and they knocked it in and that is unfortunate,” Kaufman said. “That’s soccer for you. We are going to live and learn and be ready for the next game.”

TSC W pressed for the remainder of the match and had a flurry of opportunities to equalize.

Defender Lauren Spaanstra had a shot looking to score with Martinez making another save. Martinez came up large for Tormenta again in the 86th and 87th minute on chances by Haddock and Buchanan.

“We had a several near misses. Each one I had my hands in the air [to celebrate], but their keeper came up huge, [Martinez] was terrific,” Kaufman added. “We just couldn’t put those away and we have to put those away to win this game.”

With TSC W pushing forward for the tying goal, Tormenta countered one last time and earned a corner kick in the first minute of stoppage time. On the ensuing corner, Andrews was able to collect the ball on the far post and rifle a shot into the upper corner giving Tormenta the 2-0 result.

TSC W returns to action Friday, May 20th with against Southern Soccer Academy at Ravenwood High School kicking off at 7:30 pm CT.

Inaugural Season Kicks Off this Week for Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League

FRANKLIN, TN – After months of preparation and anticipation, Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League will kick off its inaugural season against South Georgia Tormenta FC on Wednesday, May 18th at at Ravenwood High School Stadium at 7:30 pm CT.

“This is the beginning of what promises to be an exciting season for our team and the Greater Nashville community,” said USL W League Head Coach Dalton Kaufman. “The players have created the goal of competing for the South Central Division championship and their intensity has shown during the first week of training. That intensity has created a unique and immediate team chemistry that has our coaching staff very excited about what’s to come.”

TSC announced the new USL W League and USL League Two franchises January 3, 2022, followed by the hiring of Kaufman as the head coach just seven days later. Kaufman brought a wealth of experience with coaching pre-professional teams in Arizona and California. Together, with assistant coaches Dean Blain and Ronnie Woodard, the coaching staff worked diligently to build a talented roster, many of whom formerly played with TSC.

The roster starts between the pipes with goalkeeper Kate Devine, a starter at Vanderbilt University. Katie Bahn, a red-shirt freshman at Austin Peay University, Ana Boero from Lander University, Long Island University’s Eva Katsaitis, and Sydney Jones from Lipscomb University will all challenge for minutes throughout the season.

“We have an outstanding committee of five goalkeepers, all of whom are capable of having a breakout season,” Kaufman said. “The group is led by Kate [Devine] who is coming off an incredible season at Vanderbilt. Katie, Ana, and Eva will play key roles in the rotation. Sydney will be joining the team in early June and I expect her to immediately battle for quality minutes.”

Anchoring the backline with experience is Clemson University senior Harper White. After playing in all 20 games as a freshman, White has rarely come off the field for the Tigers in helping them reach the NCAA Division I Tournament. LJ Knox (Auburn University) and Ana Major (Samford University) join White on the backline. Belmont’s University’s Claire Fallon, Summer Elmore (Lipscomb), Sophia Finol (Southern Indiana University), Olivia Mills (University of Oregon), and Lauren Spaanstra (Middle Tennessee State University) will give the backline plenty of depth.

“This is an experienced group of defenders and a definite strength for our team,” Kaufman said. “Center back Harper White will anchor the line with a wealth of experience. It will be exciting to watch this group develop over the first half of the season as many will play slightly different defensive positions than they did for their universities.”

Coming off an invitation into the United States U-23 Women’s National Team, Auburn’s Anna Haddock will lead an experienced and talented midfield. While Haddock will focus on innovative attacking and creativity, Hayley Howard, a sophomore starter at the University of Louisville, and Shelby Craft from Lipscomb will bring a more balanced presence to the midfield adding strong ball winning and distribution. Meredith Nye (Tennessee Tech University), Grace Klippenstein (University of Tennessee – Chattanooga), Raine Jones (Davidson University), and Alec Baumgardt (Austin Peay) will all add depth and balance to the group.

“This is our deepest and most experienced position group,” said Kaufman. “Anna Haddock and Hayley Howard lead the midfield and promise to keep things creative and exciting for the fans. With so many quality midfielders on the roster, it will not be unusual to see different faces in the lineup at each match.”

Up front will be a dangerous group of players with speed and 1v1 attacking abilities. Whitaker Buchanan, who transferred from the University of Mississippi to Samford, has the ability to hold the ball and beat defenders off the dribble. The University of Tennessee’s Nolyn Bartholomew and Hannah Morton from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro give the TSC W attack a dynamic element with acceleration and creativity. McKinley Stiff (Southern Illinois University), Jaylin Counts (LIU), Sydney Hammond (University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley), Mia Roberts (MTSU), and Kelli Beiler (Lipscomb) will all add to the rotation throughout the season.

“This is another positional area of our team with great depth,” Kaufman said. “Led by target striker Whitaker Buchanan and wingers Nolyn Bartholomew and Hannah Morton, our front line has the speed and creativity to cause headaches for opposing defenders.”

“Our coaching staff has worked diligently to put together a talented and versatile roster of players who we feel can compete for the division championship,” Kaufman added. “With 12 highly-competitive matches to play in one of the toughest USL divisions, we know this is a lofty goal, but this is exactly why our players committed to TSC.”

This week will be a busy one for TSC W. After Wednesday’s historic first home match, the team with take step back on the field two days later, Friday, May 20th to face Southern Soccer Academy. Galloway’s Strike and Stong Defending Earns TSC 2 a 1-1 Draw

STATESBORO, GA – For the second time in two games, Tennessee Soccer Club USL 2 shares the points on the road with a 1-1 tie against a strong South Georgia Tormenta FC II side on Friday night at Optim Sports Medicine Field in Statesboro, GA.

“Some brilliant defending by the team and big saves from Sibs [Michael Sibley] helped us earn another important point,” said TSC 2 Head Coach Adam Grant. “I am really proud of the lads as they put in huge effort from start to finish.”

All the scoring in the game was done in the first half, but the action heated up at the end of the game after a quiet second stanza. TSC 2 nearly won the game in the 89th minute on a corner kick and once again with seconds to go in stoppage time with a ball whipped in and a shot that was saved by the Tormenta keeper. South Georgia had a chance to win of their own moments earlier on a scramble in the box which led to a shot that went just wide.

Alexis Ledoux got the home side on the board first in the 14th minute, beating TSC 2 goalkeeper Michael Sibley on a breakaway after a perfect ball was played in behind the backline.

The game was nearly tied in the 21st minute when forward Tyrese Spicer was denied by a point blank save by the Tormenta FC keeper. Spicer created his own chance sprinting to pressure the center back and winning the ball, narrowly missing the equalizing goal.

TSC 2 got on the scoresheet in the 37th minute when Spicer threaded the needle with a pass through the Tormenta defense to Kyle Galloway who cut it back and danced on the ball before finding the upper corner with his shot to knot the score at 1-1.

Tormenta FC was awarded a free kick from 27 yards out in the 80th minute but it was easily saved by Sibley. TSC 2 absorbed more pressure late with some dangerous crosses, but the backline and Sibley held strong, securing the draw on the road.

The tie marks the second game in a row in the young history of the franchise as it looks for its history first win.

TSC 2 returns to action Saturday, May 21st with its home opener against One Knoxville SC at Ravenwood High School kicking off at 7:30 pm CT.

Carrillo’s Late Header Earns Tennessee SC USL League Two Draw in Inaugural Match

DALTON, GA – Joaquin Carrillo’s header in the 86th minute capped a thrilling second half that saw Tennessee SC earn a 2-2 draw in its inaugural USL League Two match Sunday night against the Dalton Red Wolves at Lakeshore Park. The tie marks the first points in the history of the Tennessee SC USL franchise.

“We earned a good point on the road in a tough environment,” said USL League Two Head Coach Adam Grant. “The players showed real character to fight back after going down a man and a goal. It was great to see how the players handled themselves and we are looking forward to building from this game.”

Down a goal late in the match and TSC pressing with an attacking corner kick, Carson Tighe headed the ball back across the goal for Carrillo to head home to net the equalizer.

“It was a tough game against a good opponent, but we had a great team spirit,” Carrillo said. “I couldn’t believe it - I was buzzin’!”

Forward Tyrese Spicer scored the first goal in TSC USL history in the 53rd minute, winning the ball off the goalkeeper. Spicer nearly doubled the lead 10 minutes later as he found himself in on a breakaway, but the Dalton goalkeeper kept the home side in the game with a save. The striker almost gave TSC the lead in the first half, striking the near post with a shot after being played in behind the Dalton defense by Jesse Stafford-Lacey.

The Red Wolves were able to take advantage of a TSC red card in the 70th minute, leveling the score off a freekick rebound after center back Honore Kalala was red carded for a challenge. Dalton took the lead moments later against the 10-men visitors poking home a scrambling in the penalty area on a corner kick.

With five minutes remaining in the game, Dalton was reduced to 10 men as well when TSC forward Pascal Mohungsi was taken down on a breakaway. Carrillo’s game-tying goal would follow.

Grant was forced to make a change early in the game as Brandon Parrish suffered an injury early in the first half and had to be substituted.

TSC returns to the road Friday, May 13th, traveling to take on South Georgia Tormenta at Optim Sports Medicine Field at 7:30 pm ET.

Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two Team Set for 2022 Inaugural Season

FRANKLIN, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club USL League Two kicks off its inaugural season this Sunday, May 8th against the Dalton Red Wolves. The teams kickoff at 7:30 pm ET at Lakeshore Park in Dalton, GA.

“I am really excited to get started in our first year in USL League Two,” said USL League Two Head Coach Adam Grant. “We have an exceptional group of local talent, players from colleges all around the country, and some international experience.”

TSC announced the new USL League Two and USL W League franchises January 3, 2022, followed by the hiring of Grant as the head coach nine days later. Throughout the spring, Grant and assistant coaches Greg Warden and Jason Finley have worked on assembling a talented roster with balance of local talent and international experience.

Anchoring the defensive unit for TSC is goalkeeper Michael Sibley from London, England. Sibley started all 18 games for Lipscomb University, leading the Atlantic Sun Conference in wins and saves. Joining Sibley in the goalkeeper corps is Belmont University’s Nate Logan, Nashville native and Trevecca Nazarene’s Adan Gonzalez, and Colorado Mesa’s Diego Chavez.

“We have a solid corps of goalkeepers from local universities,” Grant said. “Sibs [Sibley] has done a phenomenal job for Lipscomb over the past 2-3 years. Nate and Adan also bring a lot from Belmont and Trevecca.”

In front of the goalkeepers, the backline is the deepest part of Grant’s squad. Center backs Joaquin Carrillo from Cumberland University, Lipcomb’s Honore Kalala, and Baptiste Gateau from Nantes, France will all compete for starting positions, with Cathal Coyne and Callum Stretch as options as well. At outside back, Cal State Bakersfield University’s Stephon Marcano from Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago, Lipscomb’s Louis Robinson from Nottingham, England, Quinn Kunath from Roanoke College, and ETSU’s Cameron Carroll will provide a balance of attacking and one-v-one defending on the flanks. Belmont’s Alex Johnson, Dartmouth University’s Jonathan Preston, and Cal State Bakersfield’s Shammai Camara will allow the team more depth.

“This is a huge strength of our team as we will have a lot of depth on the backline,” Grant said. “I am looking forward to seeing them all compete and build a strong back four solidifying our defensive group.”

The center of the field will be a particular strength of the team led by Nashville native Brandon Parrish, fresh off his National Championship season at Clemson University this past fall. Joining Parrish will be Milo Garvanian who started all 18 games for the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Tommy Lamb from Kent, England, Belmont’s JP Armbruster, Kyle Galloway from Marist College, and Robbie Lyons from Ireland.

“Midfield is one of the strongest areas of our group,” Grant said. “We have players that have played at the highest level with Brandon winning a National Championship at Clemson, Milo at UNC, Kyle has played at the USL level, JP will bring tremendous leadership and experience, and Tommy will make a big impact as well. I expect a lot of good play out of this group.”

Scoring goals for the team will be Belmont All-SoCon forward Liam O’Brien, Cameroonian Pascal Mohungsi, and Lipscomb’s Tyrese Spicer with Ireland’s Martin Walsh from Cumberland, Roanoke’s Harrison Kraus, Lipscomb’s Malachi Jones, Ryan Madondo from Gardner-Webb University, and Northern Illinois’ Miguel Maynez adding depth to the front line.

“Up front we have a some players that are very dynamic and will bring lots of pace,” Grant said. “Tyrese and Pascal are both very speedy and will cause problems for our opponents. Malachi and Martin will also be dangerous and Liam has scored goals for Belmont.”

“Coming off the first week of training, the energy has been brilliant,” Grant added. “The players want to learn and are excited for the season and our first game on Sunday.”

After this weekend’s historic first match, the team with take to the road again on Friday, May 13th to Statesboro, GA taking on South Georgia Tormenta FC 2.

The TSC USL League Two team will return to Tennessee for its home opener on Saturday, May 21st against One Knoxville SC at 7:30 pm CT at Ravenwood High School Stadium. Tickets will be available at the gate.

Of those 1,200 players, we have chosen 15 to keep an eye on this season as they look to lead their teams to success during the inaugural W League season. ANNA HADDOCK, TENNESSEE SC

Midfielder Anna Haddock is a rising junior at Auburn University who was recently called up to the U.S. U-23 Women’s Youth National Team roster in March, earning her first cap for her country. Last fall collegiately, Haddock led the Tigers in goals (nine) and assists (eight) and was selected for the 2021 All-SEC First Team.

CLARA ROBBINS, RACING LOUISVILLE FC

Clara Robbins capped off her senior season at Florida State University as a NCAA National Champion last fall, during which she recorded six goals and eight assists. The midfielder was selected to the 2021 ACC All-Tournament Team and was also named the ACC Tournament MVP, capping a collegiate career for the Seminoles that saw her record 87 appearances for the school.

ELIZA TURNER, MCLEAN SOCCER

Eliza Turner will represent McLean Soccer this summer after a standout freshman season at Georgetown University. Turner started 18 games for the Hoyas last fall and recorded both a goal and an assist. The midfielder was selected to the 2021 All-Big East Freshman Team having previously been a standout for McLean Soccer’s Academy program in the youth ranks.

HAL (KATHERINE) HERSHFELT, GREENVILLE LIBERTY SC

Georgia native Hal Hershfelt will stay in South Carolina with Greenville Liberty SC ahead of her senior season at Clemson University this fall. The midfielder played and started every match for the Tigers last season and finished the 2021 season with seven goals. Hershfelt was named to the 2021 All-ACC Second Team as well as the 2021 United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Atlantic Region.

JAYDE RIVIERE, AFC ANN ARBOR

Defender Jayde Riviere joins AFC Ann Arbor ahead of her senior year at University of Michigan, where last season she started 19 matches for the Wolverines. Last summer, Riviere won an Olympic Gold Medal while representing Canada at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. A native of Pickering, Ontario, Riviere was also a member of the Academic All-Big Ten in 2021.

JORDYN RHODES, KINGS HAMMER FC

Kings Hammer FC’s Jordyn Rhodes is an upcoming senior forward at the University of Kentucky. Rhodes started all 19 games for the Wildcats last season and recorded 11 goals and five assists, leading the team in both categories. She was also elected to the 2021 All-SEC Second Team as well as the 2020 All-SEC First Team.

KATIE SODERSTROM, INDY ELEVEN

Katie Soderstrom is gearing up for her red-shirt senior season at Butler University. During her time with the Bulldogs, Soderstrom has tallied 16 goals and 16 assists in three seasons. That consistent level of performance has seen Soderstrom voted to the All-BIG EAST First Team in all three of her collegiate seasons (2019, 2020 and 2021).

LAUREN KOZAL, MIDWEST UNITED FC

Michigan State junior goalkeeper Lauren Kozal averaged 4.5 saves per game last fall, tallying a total of 81 saves across 18 appearances, and will be aiming to provide a strong foundation for Midwest United FC as it competes in the Great Lakes Division. Kozal was voted Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year 2021, while also earning United Soccer Coaches All-America honors last December.

MAKENNA MORRIS, MCLEAN SOCCER

Upcoming Clemson junior Makenna Morris was called up to the United States U-20 Women’s National Team this past December having previously gained experience with the U-15 and U-17 teams. The defender was named to the 2021 Third Team All-ACC team after recording 19 starts and six goals last season for the Tigers.

MEGAN BORNKAMP, GREENVILLE LIBERTY SC

Megan Bornkamp recently completed her sophomore year as a Clemson Tiger, claiming a spot on the 2021 First Team All-ACC, as well as on the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team. The midfielder started 20 matches and led the Tigers in goals (10) and assists (10) and has now scored 18 goals over two seasons in the collegiate ranks.

MOLLY MCLAUGHLIN, INDY ELEVEN

Midfielder Molly McLaughlin recently completed her senior season at Xavier University. A native of Granger, Indiana, McLaughlin started 20 matches and recorded three goals during the 2021 season. The midfielder was named to the 2021 All-BIG EAST First Team and was a part of the All-BIG EAST Second team in 2020 and 2019 while making 67 appearances for the Musketeers in her collegiate career.

MORGAN TURNER, MINNESOTA AURORA FC

Minnesota native Morgan Turner recently wrapped up her fifth year representing the DePaul Blue Demons. The forward recorded nine goals during the 2021 season, completing her career at DePaul with 31 goals. In 2021, Turner was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team for the second consecutive season as she now returns to her home state to compete for Aurora FC.

RAENA CHILDERS, KAW VALLEY FC

Raena Childers will be in familiar territory as Kaw Valley FC kicks off its inaugural W League season at Rock Chalk Park after making 18 starts for Kansas University during her freshman campaign. A local product from Grain Valley, Mo., on the outskirts of Kansas City, Childers tallied three goals and an assist for the Jayhawks last fall and was named to the 2021 Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

RENEE LYLES, PEACHTREE CITY MOBA

A native of Atlanta, forward Renee Lyles will play close to home at Peachtree City MOBA after an impressive freshman campaign at Clemson University last fall. Lyles recorded 19 starts and tallied seven goals for the Tigers, which earned her 2021 All-ACC Freshman team honors, having previously been the 2021 Georgia 5A Player of the Year during her high school career.

SARAH FULLER, MINNESOTA AURORA FC

A Texas native, goalkeeper Sarah Fuller completed her collegiate career at the University of North Texas in 2021 as she recorded eight shutouts in 17 starts for the Mean Green. She had previously gained the national spotlight at Vanderbilt University, where in 2020 she both helped the Commodores women’s soccer program to their first SEC Tournament title since 1994 and became the first woman to score in a Power Five college football game as the football program’s kicker.

Tampa, FL - Tennessee Soccer Club’s inaugural USL W League roster features many faces fans of the club may recognize. The roster currently sits at 29 players, with 24 of them being from Tennessee and a large portion being alumni of the club’s youth program, which is one of the largest youth programs in the country.

“It is very special for our homegrown athletes to have a pre-professional team they may proudly call their own,” said head coach Dalton Kaufman, who has been coaching at TSC for the last year. “It is a testament to the depth and quality of players both at Tennessee Soccer Club and the Middle Tennessee region.

“The season provides a golden opportunity for our collegiate players to train with an experienced coaching staff while competing at the highest available level in order to stay technically sharp, tactically proficient and physically fit,” said Coach Kaufman.

Many alumni from Tennessee Soccer Club opted to play collegiately out of state at NCAA Division I universities. However, the USL W League has presented a unique opportunity for former teammates to dawn the TSC crest and share the field once again.

“TSC offering a USL W League team is a really exciting step for women’s soccer in Nashville,” said midfielder Anna Haddock, a first team All-SEC player at Auburn University. “It is allowing many former club players to come together again and continue growing ourselves as players and people.”

In addition to her accolades at TSC and Auburn University, Haddock recently represented her country on the United States U-23 Women’s Youth National Team this past March.

“Not only will this allow us to develop more as players but play for a team that our family and friends can easily support,” said Haddock.

Hayley Howard and Harper White join Haddock as TSC alums who left the state of Tennessee to play at the highest collegiate level. Howard grew up in Brentwood, TN, less than 20 minutes from Nashville and White grew up in Nashville. For them, the opportunity to play at a high level during their summer break is good, but the opportunity to return home to play is even better.

“TSC has always been great with providing an avenue for me and my teammates to play soccer at the highest level,” said Howard, who is a midfielder at the University of Louisville. “Having a W League team so close to home presents me with an opportunity to spend the summer with my family while also continuing my development as a player.”

“Being able to come home to just as high a level of play as when I'm in college is going to be so great for my development,” said Harper White, a current defender for the Clemson Tigers. “It means a lot because it allows me to come home and play for my town at the level I need to in order to prepare for my collegiate season in the fall.”

For Coach Kaufman, the opportunities extend beyond this inaugural roster. “The introduction of the W-League comes at the perfect time as it will not only provide an opportunity for these young players to watch some of the best female athletes in the country compete but may also inspire many of them to set goals of one day reaching the pre-professional and even professional levels.”

“It allows young girls to watch college players compete at a higher-level right in their backyard,” added White.

“Having a W League team opens a path to allow us to fulfill our dreams of playing professionally. That is not something we’ve had before and it’s a big opportunity,” said Howard.

TSC opens its season on Wednesday, May 18 at home against South Georgia Tormenta FC. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 PM CDT in Nashville, Tennessee.

Anna Haddock Selected for United States U-23 Women’s Youth National Team

FRANKLIN, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club USL W League midfielder Anna Haddock will represent her country after being added to the United States Under-23 Women’s Youth National Team roster.

“I am extremely excited for this opportunity to compete with and against the country’s best,” Haddock said as she prepared to travel to the West Coast. “I feel very thankful for my family, coaches, teammates, and friends who have supported me throughout my career. It is a reminder to all how important hard work and dedication are when it comes to achieving your goals. Time to get to work!”

Haddock will join the USWYNT to play in the Thorns Preseason Tournament from March 5-11, playing three matches versus NWSL teams at Providence Park in Portland, OR. The USA opens against the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. CT followed by the Portland Thorns taking on the OL Reign at 7 p.m. The tournament continues on Tuesday, March 8 with the Red Stars facing the OL Reign at 7 p.m., and the USA will play the Thorns at 9:30 p.m. The friendly competition will finish on Friday, March 11 as the USA faces the OL Reign at 7 p.m. and the Thorns take on the Red Stars at 9:30 p.m. The U.S. roster will consist of 22 collegiate players and the squad will be coached by newly appointed USWNT assistant coach Twila Kilgore.

A native of Bowling Green, KY, Haddock played her youth soccer career with TSC and has signed on to play for TSC’s USL W League team. At TSC, she earned ECNL All-America honors and was named ECNL U17 Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year. For her high school, she was back-to-back Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year as well as Miss Kentucky.

A First Team All-SEC player at Auburn University, Haddock was twice named SEC Player of the Week and three-time Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week after beginning her sophomore season with nine goals in her first 10 games. Haddock’s successes are not limited to the field as she went on to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors as well.

“This is the result of countless hours of training, personal sacrifice, and commitment,” said USL W Assistant Coach and Haddock’s youth coach Ronnie Woodard. “Anna is the shining example of hard work, dedication, and believing in herself.”

Tennessee Soccer Club’s USL W League and League Two Teams Announce First Wave of Players

FRANKLIN, TN – Following the announcement this winter of Tennessee Soccer Club adding two new United Soccer League franchises to its player developmental pathway, the club has begun announcing the players who will represent TSC this summer.

At the end of January, TSC began by announcing that Anna Haddock, a TSC alumna and First Team All-SEC midfielder at Auburn University, had committed to join the inaugural TSC USL W League team. Joining Haddock that first week were former TSC players, Kate Devine – Vanderbilt University (GK), Whitaker Buchanan – University of Mississippi (F), Hayley Howard – University of Louisville (MF), Grace Klippenstein – University of Tennessee – Chattanooga (MF), and Nolyn Bartholomew – University of Tennessee (F).

“This is an exciting time for women's soccer in Tennessee,” TSC USL W League Head Coach Dalton Kaufman said. “Our club's reputation for developing athletes into top tier college and professional players is evident by the quality commitments we are receiving from our TSC alumni. Our coaching staff has been very active in signing alumni from elite college programs such as Vanderbilt, University of Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson, Louisville, and Ole Miss, to name a few. And we are continuing to attract talented players from around the country. TSC also has a very talented pool of senior college-bound players whose involvement will be critical to our team's current and future success.”

The USL League Two team followed with its first player, Brandon Parrish who also played locally at TSC. It has been an exciting few months for Parrish, fresh off winning the NCAA Division I National Championship with Clemson University in December. TSC added three more players in JP Armbruster – Belmont University (MF), Quinn Kunath – Roanoke College (D), and Tommy Lamb – Eckerd College (MF) with more to come.

“We are very excited about the TSC alumni who have committed thus far,” said TSC USL League Two Head Coach Adam Grant. “The local colleges will have a big impact in our team this season as we get started. We are looking forward to adding top players from great collegiate soccer programs around the country to continue to grow our team as we compete in USL League Two.”

USL W League Releases Inaugural Season Schedule

2022 Regular Season to Run May through July

TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League (USL) today announced the schedule for the 2022 USL W League season, confirming games for six of its seven divisions. The inaugural season for the elite pre-professional league will kick off in May, culminating with the W League Final in mid-July.

229 games are scheduled to be played over the 10-week regular season, with an additional 25 games yet to be confirmed as the League continues to finalize the Mid Atlantic Division. Currently, 60% of the league’s matches will take place on weekend dates.

“We could not be more excited to announce our inaugural season schedule, signifying we are getting closer and closer each day to matches being played and fans being able to enjoy W League action,” said Joel Nash, Vice President of Youth & Pre-Professional. “The 2022 season will be a special experience for our players, clubs, and fans, and we look forward to the memories that will be created through the W League.”

The regular season will kick off on May 6 as Indy Eleven hosts Kings Hammer FC at its Grand Park facility. Tennessee Soccer Club will open its season on May 18 at home versus South Georgia Tormenta FC. The last day of the regular season is scheduled for July 10, with the format for the playoffs to be announced this Spring.

“Working with our clubs to build this schedule around our shared commitment to providing an elite environment for players, coaches, fans, and communities has been a fantastic experience,” said Betsy Haugh, USL Director of Women’s Soccer Operations. “Our excitement for kickoff in May is only further fueled by confirming and sharing this schedule, with a lot to look forward to in the W League in 2022.”

USL W League Confirms Inaugural Season Membership, Divisional Alignments

43 teams will compete in the League’s inaugural season

TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League (USL) today confirmed 43 clubs set to compete in the W League’s inaugural 2022 season. The elite pre-professional league will begin play this May with seven divisions comprised of teams from 20 different states.

The USL launched the W League on June 8, 2021 with eight initial members and has since welcomed 35 additional clubs. The W League’s founding membership includes four clubs from the USL Championship, five clubs from USL League One, 24 clubs from USL League Two, and 10 new USL expansion markets.

“When we set out to build the W League, we made it a focus to involve key stakeholders who have been driving the women’s game forward both inside and outside the USL. That sense of community laid the foundation that these clubs are building upon,” said Joel Nash, Vice President of Youth and Pre-Professional. “There are ample stories that have already been told to this point, but players showcasing their talent to thousands of fans across the country and world will be the story we can all celebrate in 2022.”

The clubs will be arranged into seven divisions for the 2022 season – the Deep South, Great Lakes, Heartland, Metropolitan, Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, and Southeast. USL League Two Reveals Schedule for 2022 Season

The 2022 Regular Season will Span 11 Weeks from May to July

TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League (USL) today announced the schedule for the 2022 USL League Two season. As the foremost pre-professional soccer league in North America, the 2022 season will be the most expansive to date – featuring over 800 matches and more than 110 teams.

Spanning 11 weeks, the 14-match regular season will kick off with Northern Virginia FC hosting newcomers Commonwealth Cardinals FC in an intrastate clash of Chesapeake Division opponents on May 1. Tennessee Soccer Club will open its season on May 8th visiting the Dalton Red Wolves and will open at home on May 21st hosting One Knoxville SC.

The USL League Two regular season will feature 479 matches played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and will conclude on July 17 with 10 matches on the day.

With more than 35 clubs set to compete in the league for the first time this season, League Two is further expanding its reach in the pre-professional ranks by admitting clubs both established and on the rise from across the country.

“It’s a testament to the collective effort taken by everyone over the last few years that League Two will embark on one of its most historic years,” said USL Vice President of Pre-Professional and Youth, Joel Nash. The historic clubs that have laid the foundation are now joined by exciting clubs that will bring a new level of soccer to their communities. We’re delighted to watch and celebrate the stories that will be told on the field and in the communities this season, all topped off by the League Two Final in August.”

The 2022 season marks the continuation of the partnership between League Two and live-streaming platform ELEVEN (formerly MyCujoo), which will expand access to games for fans of the league by ensuring all member clubs have the necessary tools to stream and share their games.

Additionally, League Two has continued its partnerships with FootballISM to enhance scouting and talent ID efforts and Passage as the official ticketing partner of the league.

Tennessee Soccer Club adds Adam Grant as Head Coach of the USL League Two Team for 2022 Season

FRANKLIN, TN - Tennessee Soccer Club has named Adam Grant as head coach of its USL League Two team for the 2022 season.

He is currently in his sixth year as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Cumberland University following a two-year stint as the Head Women’s Coach.

No stranger to success, Grant’s teams were 126-52-12 over the 11 years as a head and assistant with the men’s and women’s programs at Cumberland, reaching the NAIA Championships six times. He won back-to-back Coach of the Year Awards for the Mid-South Conference in 2017 and 2018

“We are extremely pleased to name Adam as the Head Coach of our League Two team,” Executive Director Stuart Brown said. “With local ties at Cumberland and having led [Nashville United] from the beginning, he will bring great experience and leadership in building our team to compete in USL’s League Two.”

“I am incredibly excited for this opportunity with Tennessee Soccer Club,” said Grant. “Soccer is becoming massive in the Greater Nashville area and to lead the USL League Two team is a big honor. I am ready to get started and build this group.”

Grant holds a “C” coaching license with the US Soccer Federation and a NSCAA Goalkeeping Level 1 and 2 license.

A Dublin, Ireland, native, he graduated from Pobalscoil Neasain before playing three years at Lambuth University, earning First Team All-Conference honors as a freshman and Second Team All-Conference accolades as a junior. The Eagles won a conference championship his freshman season and he captained the 2010 club to a 12-5-2 overall mark.

Grant continued to Martin Methodist College to complete his coursework, earning his bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Management in May 2012. He received his master’s in Sport and Exercise Pedagogy from Cumberland in May 2014.

Dalton Kaufman Named Head Coach of TSC USL W League Team for Inaugural Season

FRANKLIN, TN - Tennessee Soccer Club has named Dalton Kaufman as head coach of its USL W League team ahead of the inaugural 2022 season.

Kaufman, a USSF A Licensed coach with over 28 years of coaching experience, has achieved tremendous success at various levels of the women’s game. Specifically, he has a proven ability to get new pre-professional women’s teams off the ground and find immediate success.

He was the founding coach and general manager of the Beach Futbol Club WPSL women’s team, winning the 2014 National Championship with the club.

During a three-year stint in Arizona where he served as State Director of ODP and Director of Coaching with Arizona Rush Soccer Club, Kaufman was the founding coach of the Arizona Rush WPSL team. He led this group to the 2008 WPSL National Championship match and the 2010 USYS U23 National Championship match.

Kaufman also served as the General Manager and Associate Head Coach of FC Pacific Makos, who competed in the Pacific South Conference of the WPSL.

“We are very fortunate to have someone as experienced and talented as Dalton leading our USL W League team,” said Executive Director Stuart Brown. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, success and dedication to the women’s game that will have an immediate impact on our players.”

“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to coach the Tennessee Soccer Club W-League team," said Kaufman. "I recognize the USL W-League as the highest level of pre-professional women's soccer in the country, so our coaching staff will be intently working to secure elite player commitments both locally and nationally.

Kaufman has also coached at the youth, high school and collegiate levels.

Kaufman graduated from the University of Southern California (’94) and has a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning. He lives in Brentwood with his wife Samantha, and son Callum (a current TSC player).

Expansion club will field men’s and women’s pre-professional teams

FRANKLIN, TN - The United Soccer League today announced Tennessee Soccer Club will join both the USL W League and USL League Two in the 2022 season.

Tennessee SC is the largest competitive youth soccer club in the state, serving over 3,500 families in six cities across the Greater Nashville Area. The club offers opportunities at every level of the game with the mission of promoting a love for soccer by developing excellence on the pitch.
